Aryans, Descendants of the Shining Ones




This article should be read in conjunction with http://aryan-myth-and-metahistory.blogspot.co.uk/2011/07/nordic-appearance-of-aryan-gods.html A very interesting book which attempts to explain the accounts of the Gods of the Aryan peoples as being a type of ancient super race living in a lost Golden Age is Jos Rogiers's The Lost Civilization of Home Supersapiens, published in 2007. This has since been followed up with Messages from a Hidden Past (2012) which develops his theory further, although I have not yet read this later book myself.

Mr Rogiers highlights the important fact that the Gods were associated with characteristics which "are body marks in the form of the sun, the moon, or stars." Indeed their characteristics are overwhelmingly Nordic although there are some exceptions to this general rule. Where exceptions occur this tends to point to an alternative non-Aryan origin for a deity. This is not surprising as often the deities of a subjugated people may sometimes creep into the pantheon of the dominant invading folk.

"The gods were much more handsome than us. Their great beauty is stressed time and again. Their complexion was white, but not just white, but extremely white. Often, it is said that they were the colour of snow. Their hair is mostly described as golden, or blond. Some gods, however, had raven-black hair. Lips and cheeks are sometimes pictured as blood-red. Their eyes had a striking lustre. When the colour of the eyes is rendered, which does not happen that often, they are said to be blue, grey, or green most of the time. In some cases, the words used in Greek, like 'glaukopis' or 'kuanopis', allow more than one interpretation. The gods were taller than humans, imposing, and of noble bearing." (Rogiers)

It is not just the Gods of the northern Europeans who are described as Nordic in appearance. It applies to the Gods of the Aryan Greeks and Romans as well. The following deities are described as being blonde: Hera, Harmonia (daughter of Ares and Aphrodite), Leto (mother of Apollo and Artemis), Dione (mother of Aphrodite), Aphrodite, Athene, Demeter, Persephone, Mercurius, Eros and Dionysus is sometimes described as golden-haired.

Amongst the nymphs and heroes (who are often demi-Gods) the following are blonde: the Charites/the Graces, the Hesperides, Ocyrhoe (daughter of a nymph and a centaur), Helen of Troy (a daughter of Zeus), Achilles, Rhadamanthus (a son of Zeus), Heracles, Europa, Agamede, Medea, Ariadne, Phaedra, Periclymenos, Clytemnestra, Iphigeneia, Orestes, Electra, Odysseus and Menelaos.

My readings of Celtic myths and legends also has shown me that in the majority of cases where deities, supernatural beings or heroes are physically described they almost always have blonde or red hair. Occasionally they are described as being auburn. My copy of the Collins Concise English Dictionary defines this as being "a moderate reddish brown colour." This derives from Latin albus meaning white via the Old French alborne meaning blond! Thus it is just a variety of red or blonde hair.

One could argue are the Gods physically a reflection of the people who worshipped them or are the people who worshipped them alike in appearance because they are the descendants of the Gods? I can only speak from the perspective of a Germanic heathen when I say I believe that it is the latter view which is more likely to be the correct one. Does not Tacitus in Germania 2.2 write that the Germans believed themselves to be descendant of Mannus, the son of  "a god brought forth from the earth" (Rives translation) or "an earth-born god" (Mattingley/Handford translation)? Poetically Mannus is described as the "fountain-head of their race" in the Mattingley/Handford translation. Rives puts it far less poetically when he writes that Mannus is "the source and founder of their people". Thus our ancestors believed themselves to be sons of the Gods and we should believe the same!

We must not be shy in affirming the Nordic characteristics of the Aryan peoples and that where a people start to deviate from this norm it is the result of admixture. I am NOT talking about individuals here but whole peoples!

"The evidence so obtained consistently indicates that the Indo-European people, or at least its upper class, was of the Nordic race." (The Indo-Europeans, Professor Jean Haudry)
" At the same time the fact that the first Aryans were Nordics was not without importance. The physical qualities of that stock did enable them by the bare fact of superior strength to conquer even more advanced peoples and so to impose their language on areas from which their bodily type has almost completely vanished. That is the truth underlying the panegyrics of the Germanists: the Nordics' superiority in physique fitted them to be the vehicles of a superior language." (The Aryans. A Study of Indo-European Origins, V. Gordon Childe)
"The original speakers of Indo-European must have been Nordic. The archaeological evidence will not support the thesis that the Indo-European language stock had its origin in Northern Europe, although the dominant physical type there can be identified with that of early speakers of Indo-European. This leaves the Corded Ware culture of Upper Saxony and Thuringia to be associated with the original Indo-Europeans.
 "The original population of the Italian Peninsula was mainly of the Mediterranean type, but the dominant type among the Italici was Nordic. Both Sieglin and Guenther have collected a vast amount of material from Roman sources, from literary and historical records, from Roman statuary and from personal names, showing clearly that the type of the ruling classes of the ancient Romans was Nordic. A great many well-known persons are described as blond. Blond hair was ascribed to the deities such as Amor, Apollo, Aurora, Bacchus, Ceres, Diana, Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, Minerva and Venus. Two hundred and fifty persons are known who bore the name of Flavius (blond) and there are many with names such as Rufus (red) and Rutilius (reddish).
 "There can be no doubt that those who introduced an Indo-European language were basically of the Nordic type. Most of the gods and heroes of the Illiad and the Odyssey were blond; Athena was blue-eyed, Aphrodite was described as having golden-hair, Helen had silken blond hair, light-coloured eyes, a dazzling white skin. The Greek word iris meaning rainbow was used to describe the human eye. It would be very strange indeed if a dark-eyed people had made such a comparison.
"Many plastic representations from Roman sources have survived and these show quite clearly that the dominant Celtic characteristics were of the Nordic kind, even when allowance is made for idealization on the part of the artist.
"Skulls of Nordic type have been found in the burials of the royal families of the Hari and of the Mitanni. Indo-European names of rulers are common. This is also true of the Hittites." (The Germanic People. Their Origin, Expansion & Culture, Francis Owen)

It should be our goal to restore both the spiritual and the physical nobility of our race. On an individual level we can do this with the personal choices that we make which have repercussions for good or ill for those who follow after us.

Our fall from this Golden Age via the less pure but still brilliant Silver and Bronze Ages (meant as mythological cycles not historical and archaeological ages) to this Age of Iron, this Wolf Age, this dark Kali Yuga is the result of the interbreeding of our divine ancestors with mortal races which may have helped these other races in their upward evolution but in our case has resulted in a downward involution into ever baser matter! It is clear to me that our divine ancestors were spiritual and not material in bodily composition. Rogiers makes the following interesting observation:

"Some of the summarized texts indicate that the gods were not only very white, but even 'shining'."

According to Helena Petrovna Blavatsky the First Root Race was ephereal. In other words they were composed of etheric matter. This is the age of the Gods. Their descendants, the Hyperboareans which were the Second Root Race were the colour of golden yellow. No doubt this is to do with their hair colouring. These were a physical race, descended from the ephereal Gods but they were already composed of matter in the sense that we know it. Our destiny as Aryans of the Fifth Root Race is to ascend back from base matter to spirit via the Sixth Root Race (regenerated after Ragnarok) and the Seventh Root Race (back to spirit/the aether).

Wodenism




I am more convinced than ever before of the need to keep our political beliefs separate from our religious and spiritual practices. Political systems are temporal. They are of this world and have a limited time span. Our heathen faith however is encoded in our DNA or in our blood if you prefer. Our Gods are timeless. They may appear to die but they don't; they merely change form. My preferred interpretation of our ancient Germanic faith, Wodenism as taught by the Woden's Folk Religion is folkish but at the same time not obsessed with 1930s/40s Germany. I certainly believe that Hitler was an avatar of Wotan and I have never denied that. However I do not worship him despite the incorrect and uninformed remarks of Maggie Benn. It is obvious to all with eyes to see that he was possessed by Wotan. One does not even need to be folkish or a sympathiser to understand that. After all Carl Gustav Jung, the German-Swiss founder of Analytical Psychology was not a National Socialist but he recognised this spiritual truth and he said so in his 1936 essay Wotan. There is evidence that Jung was folkish or inclined that way (see Richard Noll's remarkable The Jung Cult. Origins of a Charismatic Movement, 1994 and his Aryan Christ, 1997); however that is not the same thing as being a National Socialist.

There are people of all or no political persuasion that realise that they are Germanic heathen and as long as they accept that we are folkish should be welcomed within Wodenism but to be overtly political may deter otherwise good people from following our path. We must seek to bridge the false divide between left and right. It is a false dichotomy. Indeed I have said before that National Socialism is a left wing movement (see Povl Riis-Knudsen's National Socialism: A Left Wing Movement, 1984) as it sought to overturn the old order and one wing of the NSDAP led by Gregor Strasser tried to secure a second revolution as the first one they felt (and I feel) did not go far enough in smashing capitalism. We must create a third way which is beyond left and right but seeks to address the concerns of the day and at the same time is rooted in blood and soil.

The Great Yearning: An Armanist Ritual-A Review

I looked forwarded to reading this book but as I progressed through it my disappointment grew. Some of the criticisms which I directed at the 55 Club`s first book, The Complete Armanen have been compounded in this work. This is a shame as I genuinely wanted to rate this work more highly than I have done. Unfortunately it is a hopeless mishmash of christianity and heathenism. Christ is invoked alongside  the Germanic Gods and there are frequent references to "God" in this book along with the "Holy Ghost". It is almost as if the authors cannot relinquish their childhood christian indoctrination but at the same time try to embrace an ancestral spiritual path. It just doesn't work for me and I dare say for other Germanic heathens. The constant references to Adolf Hitler and his inclusion in Armanist rites is a mistake and plays into the hands of our enemies who are fond of capitalising on the fake Hollywood Nazi image. Whilst some of us may regard ourselves as adherents of esoteric National Socialism the American in your face rhetoric is too much for me to stomach. Spirituality, even folkish spirituality must be kept separate from politics. The only reason why I am not discarding this book is that some of the rites may be salvageable through adaptation. At least this work is largely free of typing errors although I spotted a few German to English translation mistakes.

In my opinion this book could have been more successful if it had concentrated on translating original German material into English and had left out the frequent references to Hitler and to the Ku Klu Klan. Europeans don`t appreciate such a direct political approach. 

One last note it is a big mistake to write a book on German Armanist ritual practices and in one of the opening essays "Warg: The True Story" downplay the remembrance of the massacre of 4,500 Saxon heathen rebels in Verden, Lower Saxony by Karl the Butcher as an "audacity" and our expression of sadness at this event as to "moan or grovel". This is a disgrace and a source of offence to those of us who are descended from the clans of Lower Saxony.

It is hoped that one day a genuine handbook of Armanen rites in English may be published.

A Yuletide Message from Wotans Krieger



In this article I wish to restate some simple truths. There can be no accord between a folkish Weltanschauung and the abrahamic desert religions of judaism, xtianity and islam, the latter two being offspring of the first. There are some, particularly in the USA who feel otherwise, that what matters above all is race rather than belief. This is a fatal error for if they care to actually study European history over the last 2,000 years and indeed the history of the Middle East before that time they would understand that a struggle has been waging continually between the Aryan sons of the sun and the sons of shem. This does not concern race alone but the world of ideas for all the indigenous cultures of the earth have and are being threatened by all three abrahamic religions at one time or another.

The Second World War was but a continuation of the struggle waged between the Aryan tribes of the Old Testament against the jews, the Irminist Saxons against the fanatical xtian race traitors, the Franks, the Vikings against the xtianised Anglo-Saxons (who forsook the same Gods) right up to the present day, where we now live in a society that has thrown off the shackles of the alien xtian religion but has adopted its secular bastard offshoots, ie humanism, democracy and liberalism. 

The Second World War involved a life and death struggle between the 'allies' (how I detest that pompous and self-righteous term) and the Wotan inspired Third Reich which gradually was throwing off the shackles of a religion that had killed a third of its population in the Thirty Years War (1618-1648). A fratricidal dispute over what variety of semitic xtian religion the people should follow. What an awful waste of German blood, all in the name of a jewish messiah who never even actually existed! That was indeed a holocaust of good German blood to a semitic demonic entity!

Look at the blood that was shed in the wars of Karl the Butcher, the Frankish king who attempted to eradicate authentic Germanic heathenism amongst the Saxon tribes, with the desecration of the Irminsul, our temples and groves, creating such devastation of our religion that researchers such as myself have to spend their lives trying to piece it all back together again in order that a new folkish religion may spring from traditional roots.

Some white nationalists may not consider the murder of 4,500 heathen Saxons in October 782 in Verden, Lower Saxony something that is worthwhile to remember and indeed one of the writers of The Great Yearning. An Armanen Ritual (see Warg: The True Story) appears to be outraged by our remembrance of this heinous act and refers to such feelings as "to moan and grovel". The author regards the murderer of my maternal ancestors who stayed true to the Aesir (the real meaning of Asatru) as "A man of wolfish spirit" (meant by the author I feel as a positive not a negative trait), "chopping down the superstitious and enforcing discipline." Karl the Butcher's  'discipline', being the 'discipline' of a tyrant, something I am sure the author would not accept in his own country, the USA where individual freedom is supposedly cherished and enshrined in their constitution! This said 'discipline' being the bloody introduction of xtianity, the destruction of our ancient practices and beliefs and their substitution with the enforced worship of a jewish anti-'god'.  The admonition that "We will honour Charlemagne" makes just as much sense as me saying "we will honour Churchill", both of whom were notorious traitors to their race who caused irreparable harm and whose actions reverberate down to the present day.

The Third Reich had 4 major opponents: capitalism, bolshevism, liberalism and xtianity, all offshoots in some way of judaism. This truly was a war not so much of race as our enemies would have the masses to believe but a war of ideas, ideology and spiritual forces. This is an idea that I will return to in a future article on this blog. This war of ideas and beliefs continues up until the present day with the commercialisation and xtianisation of the ancient Germanic festival of Yule, thus creating the struggle in microcosm of xmas against Yule.

The Armanist Rune Magicians and Ariosophists of the early 20th century were like all of us men of their time and a product of the societies into which they were born. We must be careful as 21st century heathens in our interpretation of Armanist material as much of it is unfortunately contaiminated by xtianity to a certain extent. Those of us who are involved in esoteric Wodenism are aware of these shortcomings as we create a new religious path, rooted in the Blut und Boden of the past but with one eye towards the future. Nothing can or should remain static or the same. We must change as this is the dynamic of life: Arising-Becoming-Passing Away to New Arising! However what is new must be rooted in what is old, what is organic to our folk and lands. This is the essence of the Woden Folk Religion.

Yule, a Liminal Time of the Year-My Experience



We are approaching that time of the year-Yule when the boundaries between the nine worlds are liminal, especially between the "living" and the "dead". At certain times of the year, particularly at the solstices and equinoxes the boundaries of time and space become fluid. Not surprisingly I experienced an extremely vivid dream last night where I dreamed of a dead brother who I never knew who was born unfortunately stillborn.

In my dream my brother appeared as a grown man but looked far younger than his age. He told me that he was born as it were in the year 1955, which would make him 5 years older than me but did not look like a typical 59 year old. My late mother who was a spritualist medium used to tell me that babies continue to grow into maturity in the spirit world and the old appear to be youthful. My brother looked no older than being in his 30s, certainly not a man knocking on the door of old age.

There is nothing that I can think of that logically could have caused this dream. It is not something I would ever dwell upon until now so I can only conclude that this very vivid dream was a genuine visitation from the afterlife when one considers that the boundaries between the worlds are currently weak. This is a time when we need to give thought to those who have passed on and not to be surprised if they make contact with us.

Recently I purchased a one of a kind orgonite Thor's Hammer amulet which sometimes I wear when sleeping. I have noticed that since I acquired it my dreams have become much more vivid than usual. The first night that I wore the amulet, having consecrated it to Woden and asking Woden to speak to me during my sleep I experienced in the darkness of my bedroom a fiery circle in my eyes, about the size of this round amulet which contains a steel Hammer inside it. It reminded me of a period of temporary blindness which I experienced a few years ago when I saw a flaming circle of Runes before me. This time there were no runes, just a circle. The circle as my readers will know symbolises the eternal. As Woden's elect we are eternal.

The Serpent as Symbol of the Aryan Priestly Caste



As referred to in my previous article http://aryan-myth-and-metahistory.blogspot.co.uk/2014/12/the-war-between-aryan-first-and-second.html there is evidence of a war between the first and second castes in Aryan society which eventually amongst the Germanic peoples led to the amalgamation of the priestly and warrior castes  as related in the Rigsthula. This struggle between priest and noble/warrior has continued down to the modern era.

Whilst the caste systems of the other Aryan peoples are divided into priest, warrior and producer the Germanic is divided into noble (Jarl), farmer (Karl) and slave (Thrall), clearly the latter caste being non-Aryan and thus non-Germanic; the remant of an enslaved and conquered population. This is demonstrated in the Nordic racial characteristics of the first two castes as opposed to the clearly non-Nordic ones of the third caste.

 A significant factor with the three children which Rig (generally taken to be Heimdall) sires is that they each have different complexions and hair colourings. The first child He sired was called Thrall. Thrall's mother was Edda-great grandmother, the wife of Ai-great grandfather. Thrall is described in Thorpe's translation as having "swarthy skin".  In Larrington's translation he is described as being "dark as flax". The second child He sired was called Karl. Karl's mother was Amma-grandmother, the wife of Afi-grandfather. In Larrington's translation he is described as being "red and rosy, with lively eyes". Thorpe's translation describes Karl as being a "ruddy redhead" and "its eyes twinkled". This could be an indication of light eyes. The third child was called Jarl. Jarl's mother was Modir-mother, the wife of Fadir-father. In Thorpe's translation it is said "Light was his hair, bright his cheeks, his eyes piercing as a young serpent's". Interestingly the characteristic of having 'serpents' eyes' is related to the clan of the Volsungs which was certainly sired by Odin, not Heimdall. Larrington in her translation says of Jarl "blond was his hair, bright his cheeks, piercing were his eyes like a young snake's."

The division by the sacred number 3 is an important aspect in Aryan society, culture and mythology and the Germanic peoples were no exception to this rule. In my speculated war of the castes the victorious warrior caste which had assumed the rights, privileges and duties of the priestly caste for themselves realised that they had need of a new third caste. This new caste was the non-Aryan caste of the Thralls. Before anyone objects to my argument that the Thralls were not Germanic please read again the physical characteristics of that caste in the previous paragraph. Furthermore what right thinking, self-respecting and proud Teuton would submit to the ignominy of slavery? Death is preferable to dishonour. No, these people were a conquered, inferior and subservient race. This is why today, many centuries after the collapse of the Germanic caste system we see such varied racial types amongst supposedly Germanic nations. The adoption of language is not a determiner of race. Unless something drastic happens (which I hope and know that it will) then in 500 years time someone may assume that the miscegenated population of England is Germanic purely on the basis of its language even though our race may have been exterminated well before then due to the forced introduction of the multiracial society by the traitors who govern and have governed this country. Only those of English blood have the natural right to call themselves English. It has nothing whatsoever to do with where you are born or what passport you hold. It is a biological not a political identity.

It is interesting that the Gods of the Germanic peoples were still divided into the traditional Aryan caste system as demonstrated in Professor Jean Haudry's remarkable little book The Indo-Europeans. The Germanic Gods like those of the other Aryan peoples may be divided into 3 functions: sovereignity, war and production. Amongst the Teutons sovereignity is vested in Tiw and Woden. It is not unusual for sovereignity to be divided amongst two deities and indeed this was the norm amongst the Aryans. One God represented law, the other the religious, magical or spiritual order of things.  Thunor was the primary deity of war but it is not surprising that with the gradual eclipse of Tiw by Woden that Tiw started to take on some of the martial characteristics of the second function. Also Thunor has some fertility responsibilities that link him to the third function. The third function was the province of the Vanir, particularly Frey.

My studies of the ancient myths of the Aryan peoples show one constant feature and that is a struggle between the heroes and Gods of the second caste or function and serpent like creatures. The terms serpent, dragon and wyrm are used interchangeably in this article because they all essentially mean the same thing and certainly the latter two terms were used by the Germanic peoples. It is my argument that the serpent represents the priestly caste in a life or death struggle with the hero or God who represents the warrior caste or function.

Examples of conflict between such heroes and Gods and a serpent/wyrm/dragon include:

.Perseus against the snake-haired Medusa.

.Apollo against the python.

.Siegfried against the dragon.

.Beowulf against the dragon.

.Thor against the Midgardsorm.

.Indar against Vritra the dragon.

There are lesser known examples of such myths from the ancient Anglian kingdom of Northumbria such as  in Northumberland the Laidley Wyrm of Spindleston Heugh, the Wode Wyrm of Linton, near Jedburgh the Longwitton Dragon and the Dragon of Tynemouth Priory. In County Durham the Lambton Wyrm and the Sockburn Wyrm. In the North Riding of Yorkshire the Nunnington Dragon of Helmsley, the Dragon of Sexhowe Mound near Hutton Rudby and the Serpent of Handale. In the West Riding the Wyrm of Well near Ripon and the Wantley Dragon of Wharncliffe Chase. In the East Riding the Kellington Serpent.

We also have the example of the mediaeval and xtianised St. George and the dragon which is special to the English people because the myth resonates in the English Collective Unconscious for it is an ancient Germanic and Aryan archetype. At times also the Gods may take on the form of a serpent. Some well known examples include Zeus as a snake impregnating Olympias who gave birth to one of the greatest Aryan conquerors of all time,  Alexander the Great. Zeus as a snake also impregnated Persephone who consequently gave birth to Dionysus. Odin also bored through a mountain in order to gain access to win the sacred mead. It is significant that both Zeus and Odin are Gods of the first function and thus represent the priestly caste. The legend concerning the expulsion of the snakes from Ireland by St. Patrick is an obvious allusion to the destruction of heathenism in Ireland and the execution of the Druids who are symbolised as serpents, being custodians of occult knowledge.

I must also ask what is the origin of the white dragon symbol of the English tribes? Could the dragon symbol be an indication of an occult tradition that was once in the sole possession of the priestly caste but is now guarded by English Arya? Indeed could an element of the descendants of these tribes contain within them the very DNA of these spiritual guardians? This issue is deserving of an article in its own right.

We now must ask ourselves why does the serpent represent the priestly caste amongst the Aryan peopes? The answer is two-fold. The serpent is the embodiment of wisdom, secret and occult knowledge. It is only by killing the serpent can the hero hope to obtain this wisdom which is represented by treasure, usually gold.

"The 'Serpent' and 'Dragon' were the names given to the 'Wise Ones', the initiated adepts of olden times." (The Secret Doctine Volume 2, H.P. Blavatsky)

As my readers will be aware I am of the belief that ancient Egyptian civilisation was of Aryan origin and many of its Pharaohs were pure Nordics as their mummies reveal (much to the embarassment of the Egyptian authorities and academic world) so it is not surprising that :

"The icon of the snake's head on the crown above the forehead of the Pharaoh is familiar to everybody from the popular imagery of Egypt.....This is termed the Uraeus, and was a symbol of sovereignity of the god-king Pharaoh..." (Paradise Rediscovered. The Roots of Civilisation: Volume 1, Michael A. Chahill, 2012-a book I highly recommend).

Dr Cahill makes the astute observation in his book that in the Neolithic period (ostensibly the beginning of Aryan culture):

"Draco would have been the constellation at the celestial North Pole. It was the polar star of its era; the pivot around which all those mysterious stars of the night revolved, steeped in their secret meanings understood only by the adept."

Thus the concept of the serpent goes back deeply into the Collective Unconscious of the Aryan peoples and is linked to wisdom, knowledge, the occult and the arcane. This is the province of the first caste. In order for balance to be achieved and decay to be reversed this caste must rise again.

The War Between the Aryan First and Second Castes



The War of Foundation which is a prevalent theme in the mythologies of the Aryan peoples has been discussed before on these blogs. In the Germanic world this was represented by the war between the Aesir and the Vanir which resulted in their amalgamation and the formation of modern Germanic man. However what is little spoken of is the ancient war between the first and second castes in Aryan societies. I have discussed before on this blog and on my Celto-Germanic Culture, Myth and History blog about a tension between the first caste of priests and the second caste of nobles/kings and warriors. It is these two castes rather than the third caste of producers and farmers which are genuinely originally Aryan.

We need to remind ourselves that the Aryans were a warlike and dominant elite who formed the upper echelons of the societies which they conquered and dominated. The further away these societies were from the Ur-Heimat of the Aryans the more likely it was that only the first two castes were predominately Nordic. This is because it is the first and second castes who would have been involved directly in the conquest and subjugation of foreign peoples. Back in their Ur-Heimat there was less distinction between the three castes as they all stemmed from the same genetic root. Indeed it is only outside and away from this original homeland do we see an entrenched historical caste system. In the conquered lands the people they enslaved became the third caste who did all the hard manual work for them. They had no need to bring their own farmers and producers with them. This is why one can see today racial differences between the various European societies. The caste system unfortunately has not survived in Europe. Only in India can we find a broken remnant of it. What we have today in Europe is instead a degenerate class system which is based on money and nothing else. Even the Upper Class which in England and Europe is the nobility (different from the American concept of an Upper Class which is purely monetary based) has become debased due to its prostitution to lower, baser and alien elements in order to maintain their lives of privilege, their own money having long dwindled away.

The reason why we see a very strong caste system in India is because of the vast racial differences between the invading Nordic Aryans and the conquered negroid and Dravidian peoples. It has survived today because of this stark racial contrast. In Europe the differences were not so great so it did not last as long. The caste system was imposed upon the conquered lands to preserve the racial difference between Aryan and non-Aryan. Money has and is breaking down these barriers: the lust for material wealth and worldly power is particularly epitomised in the USA which has become a racial cesspit. These American 'western' anti-values are poisoning Europe also. This is why a racial awakening is needed but this can only occur after a folkish spiritual awakening as Europe turns back to its old Gods, who have never gone away but are waiting for us to come back to them. We therefore do not convert to heathenism: we return to it!

The purpose of this article is to explore further one aspect of the historical tension between the first and second caste. The Germanic caste system has its mythological basis in the Rigsthula of the Elder Edda.

"Once walked, 'tis said, the green ways along, mighty and ancient, a god most glorious; strong and vigorous, striding, Rig.
Ever on he went in the middle of the way, till he came to a house with door unclosed. He entered straight; there was fire on the floor and a hoary couple sitting by the hearth, Great-grandfather and mother in ancient guise.
Well knew Rig how to give them counsel, he sat him down in the middle of the floor, with the home-folk twain upon either side.
Great-grandmother fetched a coarse-baked loaf, all heavy and thick and crammed with husk: she bore it forth in the middle of the dish, with broth in a bowl, and laid the board.
Thence Rig uprose, prepared to rest; -- well he knew how to give them counsel -- he laid him down in the middle of the bed and the home-folk twain upon either side. Thus he tarried three nights together, then on he strode in the middle of the road while thrice three moons were gliding by.

Forthwith he grew and well he throve, Bur tough were his hands with wrinkled skin, with knuckles knotty and fingers thick; his face was ugly, his back was humpy, his heels were long. There came to the dwellings a wandering maid, with wayworn feet, and sunburned arms, with down-bent nose,- the Bond-maid named.
She sat her down in the middle of the floor; beside her sat the son of the house: they chatted and whispered, their bed preparing -- Thrall and Bond-maid -- the long day through.
Joyous lived they and reared their children. Thus they called them: Brawler, Cowherd, Boor and Horsefly, Lewd and Lustful, Stout and Stumpy, Sluggard, Swarthy, Lout and Leggy. They fashioned fences, they dunged the meadows, swine they herded, goats they tended and turf they dug.
Daughters were there, -- Loggy and Cloggy, Lumpy-leggy, and Eagle-nose, Whiner, Bondwoman, Oaken-peggy, Tatter-coat and the Crane-shanked maid. Thence ate come the generations of thralls.The Birth of Churl

A child had Grandmother, Churl they called him, and sprinkled with water and swathed in linen, rosy and ruddy, with sparkling eyes. He grew and throve, and forthwith 'gan he to break in oxen, to shape the harrow, to build him houses and barns to raise him, to fashion carts and follow the plough.
Then home they drove with a key-hung maiden in goat-skin kirtle, named Daughter-in-Law. They wed her to Churl in her bridal linen: the twain jade ready, their wealth a-sharing, kept house together, and joyous lived.
Children reared they thus they called them: Youth and Hero, Thane, Smith, Yeoman, Broad-limb, Peasant, Sheaf-beard, Neighbour, Farmer, Speaker and Stubbly-beard.
By other names were the daughters called: Dame, Bride, Lady, Gay, and Gaudy, Maid, Wife, Woman, Bashful, Slender. Thence are come the kindreds of churls.The Birth of Earl

Each other eyeing, the home-folk sat there -- Father and Mother, -- twirling their fingers. There was the husband, string a-twining, shafting arrows and shaping bows: and there was the wife o'er her fair arms wondering, smoothing her linen, stretching her sleeves. A high-peaked coif and a breast-brooch wore she, trailing robes and a blue-tinged sark. Her brow was brighter, her breast was fairer, her throat was whiter than driven snow.

There was wine in a vessel and rich-wrought goblets; they drank and revelled while day went by.

Then a boy had Mother; she swathed him in silk, and with water sprinkled him; called him Earl. Light were his locks, and fair his cheeks, flashing his eyes like a serpent's shone.
Grew Earl forthwith in the halls and 'gan to swing the shield, to fit the string, to bend the bow, to shaft the arrow, to hurl the dart, to shake the spear, to ride the horse, to loose the hounds, to draw the sword, and to swim the stream.
Forth from the thicket came Rig a-striding, Rig a-striding, and taught him runes, his own name gave him, -- as son he claimed him, and bade him hold the ancestral fields, -- the ancestral fields -- and the ancient home.
Then on rode Earl through the murky wood, through the rimy fells till he reached a hall. His shaft he shook, his shield he brandished, his steed he galloped, his sword he drew; war he wakened, the field he reddened, the doomed he slew, and won him lands -- till alone he ruled over eighteen halls. Gold he scattered and gave to all men treasures and trinkets and slender-ribbed horses; wealth he strewed and sundered rings.
Along dewy roads his messengers drive till the hall they reached where Ruler dwelt. A daughter owned he, dainty fingered, fair and skilful, Erna called.
They wooed her and brought her home a-driving; to Earl they wed her in veil fine-woven: husband and wife lived happy together, their children waxed and life enjoyed.The Birth of King
Heir was the eldest, Bairn the second, Babe, Successor, Inheritor, Boy, Descendent, Offspring, Son, Youth, Kinsman; Kon the kingly was youngest born.
Forthwith grew up the sons of Earl; games they learned, and sports and swimming, taming horses, round shields bending, war shafts smoothing, ash spears shaking; but King the youngest alone knew runes, runes eternal and runes of life. Yet more he knew, -- how to shelter men, to blunt the sword-edge and calm the sea: he learnt bird language, to quench the fire flame, heal all sorrows and soothe the heart; strength and might of eight he owned.
Then he strove in runes with Rig, the Earl, crafty wiles he used and won, so gained his heritage, held the right thus Rig to be called and runes to know.
Young King rode once through thicket and wood, shooting arrows and slaying birds, till spake a crow, perched lone on a bough: "Why wilt thou thus kill birds, young King? 'Twould fit thee rather to ride on horses, to draw the sword and to slay the foe.
"Dan and Damp have dwellings goodlier, homesteads fairer than ye do hold; and well they know the keel to ride, the sword to prove and wounds to strike."

Amongst the Germanic peoples by the time that the Rigsthula had been composed there no longer was a separate priestly caste. Instead the functions of the priest were amalgamated with the warrior caste and the king was viewed in essence as the incarnation of divinity and to a lesser extent so were the nobles. However this is a distortion of the original Aryan caste system and is not to be found amongst other non-Germanic Aryan societies. No doubt this was due to the conclusion of a conflict between these two castes for supremacy. In essence the struggle never really went away. We find in the Middle Ages ongoing conflict between the king and the church and between emperor and pope. In fact by xtian times the clerics probably had greater power than the nobles.

The Aryan caste system is reflected in the tripartite functions of the Gods. We still see in the Germanic mythology the survival of the priest, warrior and farmer caste system of the Aryans. The Rigsthula is out of step with the cosmogony. The Rigsthula knows a noble/warrior, farmer and thrall tripartite division, the latter caste being non-Nordic whilst the cosmogony sticks to the original priest, noble/warrior and farmer system. The thrall was essentially the non-Aryan and non-Germanic slave of the conquered territories. The Rigsthula is thus a distortion and a reflection of later Germanic society. In the Germanic cosmogony we still have the Gods of the three functions of sovereignity, war and production represented at the temple of Old Uppsala as Wodan, Thor and Fricco according to Adam of Bremen, writing in the late 11th century CE.

I originally intended that this article should be about the significance of the serpent in Aryan mythology but it would seem that this time (like many times before) the Gods had other ideas! However what I have to say about the serpent cult has a direct connection with this article and should be read in conjunction with it.

Mandalas, U.F.O.s and the Coming Ragnarok-Korangar



It is generally common knowledge now that the Germans during the 1930s and 1940s were actively engaged in the creation and perfection of an anti-gravity device that could be used to not only to transcend the known boundaries of space but also those of time. The appearance of saucer shaped craft over Germany and over other parts of the world after 1945 are testament to the fact that both the Americans and the Russians had obtained German scientific knowledge through the capture of scientists from the Third Reich. The technology was particularly developed by the Americans after the war and these manmade craft are the basis of most UFO sightings seen since then. We do not need to look for a fanciful extraterrestrial explanation when a more logical and terrestrial one will suffice!

However there is a deeper and spiritual dimension to this phenomena which is rarely explored. Carl Gustav Jung touches on this subject in his Memories, Dreams, Reflections (1961), a most interesting work which I unhesitatingly recommend to my readers. Dr Jung states:

"I refer to the worldwide rumours of Unidentified Flying Objects, of which we began to hear as early as 1945. The rumours are founded either upon visions or upon actual phenomena. The usual story about the U.F.O.s is that they are some kind of spacecraft coming from other planets or even from the fourth dimension.
"More than twenty years earlier (in 1918), in the due course of my investigations of collective unconscious, I discovered the presence of an apparently universal symbol of a similar type-the mandala symbol. To make sure of my case, I spent more than a decade amassing additional data, before announcing my discovery for the first time. The mandala is an archetypal image whose occurrence is attested throughout the ages. It signifies the wholeness of self. This circular image represents the wholeness of the psychic ground or, to put it in mythic terms, the divinity incarnate in man." (pages 366-367)

For Jung the manadala is "the simplest model of a concept of wholeness" but also it is "the likeness of the God-image".  There are many descriptions of the manifestation of U.F.O. like craft to be found in the religious works of man, including the Old Testament in Ezekiel chapter 1with the famous description of the wheels:

It is clear to me that on a spiritual level the manifestation of these strange phenomena is an indication of an internal conflict within the inner self of man. Some of these manifestations may be attributed to physical craft and some to spiritual visions but it is very difficult to distinguish between the two. As we rush to Ragnarok-Korangar these manifestations appear to be increasing and are on a certain level the heralds of the coming final conflict that must bring the Kali Yuga to a conclusion and for the new Golden Age to come, the Age of Widar, Woden reborn.

Apart from the mandala shape of the typical U.F.O. there is also the characteristic of its superior speed and ability to accelerate very quickly. This reminds me of a quotation from the Rig Veda:

"FLYING, with falcons, may your chariot, Asvins, most gracious, bringing friendly help, come hither,-
"Your chariot, swifter than the mind of mortal, fleet as the wind, three-seated O ye Mighty." (Hymn CVIII. Asvins, Griffith translation) 

There are many such references to the chariots of the Gods being able to travel faster than human thought in the Rig Veda. The Rig Veda is a collection of our most ancient sacred Aryan writings and a must read for those who follow this blog.
